A B O U T    H A L F M O O N - S W I T C H . C O M

I'm Bruce Wahler, and I've been a musician all my life (keyboards and guitar, with a bit of drums and percussion), starting on piano when I was six.

I currently play as Bruce Andrews and the No Street Band™, a solo project supported by MIDI gear.

As a degreed engineer, I've also been a "techie" kind of player who loves to get inside the gear and change things -- a combination of a blessing and a curse!

Halfmoon-Switch.com started out as Ashby Solutions, a retail music store that offered more 'under the hood' support than your average big chain store -- or even mom-and-pop -- could provide.  This approach led to great success in the first ten years, but as the musical instrument market dwindled, it was time to call it a day.

I still sell some hard-to-find items that gigging musicians need, though, and appreciate those of you who continue to support the store!

Ashby, MA, the store's namesake -- no, my name isn't "Bruce Ashby" -- is a little country town on the border between Massachusetts and New Hampshire.  It doesn't have 'big-city' touches -- just a post office, a general store, a conveniece store/gas station, and one restaurant with a small pub -- but it sure has a lot of beautiful scenery.  I can look out the window of my office and see the edge of Mt. Watatic and the Ashby Wildlife Management Area.

Maybe that view's part of the reason why I'm a big fan of recycling.  Most companies are "going green" these days; I set up Ashby Solutions that way 20 years ago -- before we even sold music gear.  We use motion sensors, LED lighting, and ZWave automation in the office and lab.  We recycle every possible hunk of cardboard and plastic.  In the summer, ceiling fans replace air conditioning on all but the hottest days.  In the winter, the thermostat is dropped a couple of degrees unless someone is coming by for a demo or band practice.  USPS gets most of the shipping because they are right down the road; and their boxes are a little lighter than the competition's products.  Finally, are in-house invoice and billing system is 100% paperless.  It all helps the environment, and it keeps our costs down, so we can pass the savings along.
I'm also a big fan of local manufacturing.  Rather than taking our home-grown products offshore, all Gigger Halfmoons, adapter cables, stand parts, and even the Mini-Remote and demi-Luna control PC board are manufactured in the US.  Not just assembled:  where possible, I try to use US-made components, including PC boards.
Since 2012, we've stopped sending paper invoices with our online sales.  Instead, I'll email you a PDF of the invoice, which can be printed if you'd like.  Many customers toss their invoices, anyway, and it saves trees and filled landfills, not to mention printer wear and tear.  Besides, we were supposed to be a 'paperless' society years ago, right?  I respect your preference, though, and if you you still want a paper invoice, just let me know and I'll send you one.

Unless the customer asks otherwise, our products ship USPS Priority Mail.  Priority Mail seems to offer the best combination of speed and cost for most customers, and it allows shipping later in the day to cover more orders.

PayPal Acceptance We use PayPal to provide our shopping cart.  Please be aware that if you already have an account with PayPal, they will provide your 'current' (on file) shipping address to us for the sale.  Customers who rarely use PayPal may not be aware that they have an old address on file.  Please take a moment to review the on-file address, because that's the one we're going to use to ship your gear, unless you give us a different one.

Prices are shown in US Dollars (USD) excluding shipping, unless otherwise noted.  Massachusetts residents and on-site sales will be charged 6.25% state sales tax.

Items returned for any reason other than defective merchandise will be subject to a restocking fee of up to 15%.  Returns should include original packing materials and accessories, (cables, manuals, and software, as appropriate); faillure to do so with result in a restocking fee of at least 15%, to be determined by Ashby Solutions.
